You Are More than Your Biggest Mistake
You, reader of these
words, are not defined by your broken relationships, your physical differences,
or your racial distinctions. You are not your worst
mistake. You are not the drugs, the sex, the breakups or the breakdowns. You
are not who your parents say you are or what society says you are not. In the
eyes of Jesus, you do not have to be popular, you do not have to have a 4.0 GPA
or wear a certain size clothing. You are not the burden you feel like you are or the lies you tell yourself to make the pain go away. You are not the scars on
your wrists or the stretch marks on your thighs.
So stop trying to hide under
the makeup, stop wearing baggy clothes because you feel insecure in your own
skin; quit faking it for the sake of “likes” on instagram or for fear of what
your friends might say. Don't act like life is perfect when you are struggling to make it another day. It is OKAY to open up. This is not your burden to carry. You do not deserve to put such unrealistic pressures on yourself. Don't let the world win. Don't let the harsh words define who you are. Stop trying to fight a battle you were never intended to face.
Come, as you are, perfectly imperfect, to a Father
who has been waiting for you to return home. He will take your pain; He will
take your insecurities, He LONGS to carry your heaviest burdens. The Creator
and Sustainer of ALL THINGS sent His only son to DIE for you and me, that we might know love, that we might have life, and that we might have it abundantly. Our Heavenly Father LOVES you. He wants you to
know that despite your fears of what others might think, He is greater. He
longs to replace every lie the world has told you with the truth you deserve to
receive. You are worthy of love. You are redeemed. The moment
you take Jesus at His word and believe that He sent His son to die, rising
three days later, for you and me, you leave your life of worldly lies and fake
religion and you enter into personal relationship. You are a
daughter/son of the most high God and I pray you come to let that be enough, because it is more than we could ever imagine.
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1 Look, there is hope!!!! You were never intended to fight on your own. So I challenge you to BOLDLY approach the throne of grace, walk humbly in
faith and enter into relationship with the Lord of Lords. He is waiting with
arms wide open. So talk to someone, ask questions, be real about your pain-
people are more fragile than we could ever imagine and I believe that we were
never meant to walk through this life on our own. You are a fighter for
coming this far, but its time for you to give your battle to the one who has
defeated death and claims the victory. So talk to someone, dive into the word
(John 3:16, Romans 10:9, for starters), and enter into a relationship of a
lifetime. Also feel free to talk to/message/ call or text me…every story is
important and I would love to hear yours. Because at the end of the day, we’re
in this together. Our stories are important, and you deserve to know the love
and grace of our Heavenly Father. If there’s anything I can do, let me know. You
are more loved than you can possibly imagine and I hope this post helps you to
recognize that in some way.
"See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland."
"See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland."
