if we're honest
You aren’t going to be recognized. And that is perfectly
okay. It was never about you in the first place. It’s always been about Him. He
created you to point to Him. Therefore, you should truly never be recognized.
You shouldn’t apologize for who you aren’t/ who you can’t be, but boast in who
you are and whose you are. Be quick to listen and slow to speak. Quick to
encourage, slow to criticize; quick to extend grace as you have freely received
it. WHY DO YOU TRY TO HOLD ONTO ANYTHING THAT WASN’T YOURS TO BEGIN WITH? We
can’t take ANY of it with us. WHY do you keep trying to force it into your pockets,
thinking you can slide by without being noticed? You want to know why you keep
being noticed? Because King Jesus wants all of you, every single part. He wants
your lips to sing His praise and your ears to dwell on solid truth. He longs
for your mind to be set on Him because He will floor you each time with what He
alone can do. He wants your steps to be in line with His, because He is the
ultimate Shepherd and guide. He craves for your heart to meditate on His truth
because He knows the weight of a heart centered on anything less. He commands
you to work hard and receive the fruit of your labor, but find time to rest and
recognize it’s all done by His grace. He longs for your hands to be extended
with nothing to offer, only to receive, and prayerfully to receive with thanksgiving
and fullness. WHEN will you truly understand this was never about you but has
ALWAYS been about Him? When will you drop the performing and the acts? When
will you say I have nothing to offer, except Jesus, who will certainly be
enough and far greater still? At what point will you recognize that your best
day on earth is but a drop compared to the endless fountain of riches He has
waiting for you in heaven? Do you believe it is truly all a loss to knowing
Christ and being found in Him? Because at that exact point, everything you’ve
ever truly wanted and all you really need meet and you find the source of true
life.
Drop the act and find the joy.
(hint: It starts and ends with Jesus)
